What I made Last Night

Since we've added a bcc to our family and will be getting a cinn. gcc sometime this month, I've been looking at playgyms all over the net. I had made one from pvc for my alexandrine when we first got him - but had never attempted something on a smaller scale. So yesterday we went shopping - I had no plans, so I just bought 10ft of 1/2" pvc, and some various connectors. (also went ahead and got a pvc cutter to make things easier) Came out having spent less than $30. Once home I still didn't really have a plan - so just kind of started cutting and piecing things together. I'm actually really pleased with the final outcome - it's much better than I expected! It may not be exactly even, etc.(I didn't even use a tape measure - just sorta eyed everything and ) but I figure out in the wild there isn't a tree out there that is even and level! Opinions and criticism for improvment welcome!

Thanks everyone. It was actually kind of fun making it! (although I admit I stayed up till amost 4 a.m. working on it I kept thinking of new things to do to it and couldn't leave it uinfinished!) I was almost done once when I remembered I had a container with bottlebrush "twigs" from Wayne that I bought last year. I dug it out and found some that looked like good sizes for the conures, wrapped the ends of them in vet wrap and stuffed them into the pvc. Then I took the vet wrap off a few of the pvc perches and re wrapped them with hemp. Hopfully Cosmo (and eventually, Zoey) will have a good time playing on it!

That looks really cool steph! good job! I've thought about making my own gym for Bud, but haven't quite gotten the courage to try!!

I think it's very creative.
I liked the Vet wrap used on the pipe that went up, as well as across the perch areas. The use of hemp rope instead of the vet wrap - made it look more earthy. I'd probably keep doing with the wrapping of the pipe. I'd minimize the whitw Hanging the toys must have been a challenge.

Oh - very cute - you can tell a baby bird by their terrible tails! Very funny.
