Mouth Update

No pictures, maybe tomorrow... been so hard to get over to the house during a 'good time', and things have just changed around so it may not be easy at all... The mother seems willing enough to listen, but I'm sure that most probably ends up going out of the other ear... The father mumbles (first human being that the entire conversation he mumbled!!! ), but is supposedly the 'true' owner of the bird... I can more often than not catch the son and talk to him about Mouth.... However, he is in the mindset that I WANT Mouth and may go as far as stealing him as well... No, I don't want Mouth, I just want him in a better situation, whether that be at their home or at someone else's! I know that I'm ALREADY at my limit!

I brought up that someone was interested in Mouth and if they'd be willing to possibly sell him (talking to son). He said no, that it's like something you've had within your family for generations, like a car, and that it's got sentimental value (or at least that's what he was trying to say). Supposedly they bought Mouth for $1,200, either back in '84-87' (I've heard both, son's not completely sure, but he last said '84....).

When I went and got a 'glimpse' of Mouth, he looked 'better', so to speak... not so scared, and when I was watching him from the other room it looked like he was pulling and preening the one toy he has... I didn't notice any damage to the toy up close (but then again I wasn't paying attention to it), but when I was further away it looked like some of the smaller blocks could have been chewed on.

Supposedly the son has been interacting with Mouth some, supposedly even getting him to step up, however after getting to know him, and hearing about him from one of his friends, he seems to be more talk than action, so to speak, unless it's something that he specifically wants to do. In the end though, he said that if I REALLY wanted to get a bird, he has some coworkers that have pets... and that one has an african grey for $200...

How frustrating. One toy?? Geez! Are they just not wanting to spend the money on toys? Can you give them one? Poor birdie.

Please read this thread.... it explains most of what's been going on... the last time I was able to see Mouth was when the picture of him wet was taken... that was until today.

Now I remember! How could I forget Mouth! I hope the son really has been interacting with Mouth. That is just so sad. He is sentimental like a car, so ridiculous.

Ignorance is NOT bliss, especially when lives are involved!

Tried visiting today, even taking over something for mouth to have... On the way there, I saw the son driving home, however he took a 'detour' and went the 'back roads', I assume so that I probably wouldn't see him... Didn't see anyone in the car with him, and when I got to the house, it took several minutes of knocking just to get any sort of answer... which was basically "What?" "Go away!"... kept knocking and received another answer which I believe was false...

Getting a bit fed up, with going over to the house frequently but either no one answers or it's not a 'good time'. Doesn't help that I hear one thing, then hear another... or we can just say that I don't really get along well with 'narrow minded' people, who may also be 'self conscience'... I hate to judge them, as I've really tried to see the good in these people, but I can't... not the parents nor their son...

So in short, I'm thinking about waiting a while before calling an ACO on the family... they've finally removed the old cage from the house, but I still have that picture of it, and I can explain the story, as I know it, to an ACO...
