Robyn's playgym... a work in progress
OK... here are the pics!
![]() ![]() ![]() It is 1/2" hot/cold pvc. I drilled a 3/16" hole at each end of each piece of pipe, threaded poly rope through from the outside, tied a knot, spiral wrapped the piece, cut the rope and stuck it back through the other hole and tied it off again... so all knots are actually inside the pipe. I am still working on this. It will also have a swing, climbing chains and a climbing rope, and their atom will hang in the middle. The large caps at the top have a 1/4" hole drilled for feeding cups. The 1/2" pipe is better (IMO) for the smaller birds... but your choice of connectors is more limited (no 4-way connectors for instance)... so you need to be creative. I left one side of the bottom midsection open for a tray... but also have an old cage bottom (casters, base and sliding tray) for it to sit on. All hardware is stainless steel (screws to hold it together, eye screws) and there are enough non-essential places I did not screw together to make it disassemble enough to get in my sportscar for transport.

Problem is making it cost effective. Parts alone are close to $100 (by the time I do the add-ons) and it takes a good 2 weekends OF 6-8 hours per day. So I would have to sell "big" ones like this for around $200.
