Where did she lay the eggs? In a food dish, nest or floor of the cage? If it is in a food dish, look into getting covered food dishes that only allow a bird to eat out of them. If it is a nest, remove it, they do not need one to sleep in. If it is the floor of the cage, you can try removing any eggs as they are laid, but keep them in a padded coffee cup, if she continues to lay, boil all the eggs, let them cool, and give them back. You can also switch them out for fake eggs.
Zebra finches are like bunnies, and will nest pretty much anywhere. Keep changing up the cage, move perches, food dishes, water dishes and switch out toys often. Move the cage around the room, change the height of it in the room if possible. Also, try adhering to a strict 11 hours or less of daylight time by covering the cage with a dark sheet every night and taking it off in the morning.

We would like to let them try and hatch some in the future but we definately want to give her a chance to recover from all these that she has been laying.

Perhaps after the removal of the coconut, and anything else potentially nesty, she'll stop laying.

Again from my first post:

The egg problem continues. I have removed all possible nesting sights and nesting materials. She laid another egg yesterday and it fell through the grid at the bottom of the cage. I don't want to offer her any place with a solid bottom to lay them but I don't know how else to discourage the egg laying.
Advice will be appreciated!
