Need advice about finches

I am new here and new to owning finches. I "inhierited" a small flock of finches and am anxious about something. One person told me to put nesting baskets in the cage another said not to if I don't want babies. I don't want babies! I have ten finches already!
So..... Should I take the baskets out? Will they be okay and happy just roosting on perches?
I want to be a good finch mommie!

If you have society finches like I do right now, (these are white and brown and tan or dark brown....they are kind of like the paint horses of the bird world) then you will have to rely on the males special song and dance. It is very obvious when it is happening so no worries about identifying them once they sing. I have mine in bachelor pad cages until I am ready for them to mate. Some males get along with each other and some males don't, so watch them at first to make sure they won't fight each other.
Finches are wonderful, easy to care for birds. You will love their hilarious antics and bigger than life personalities. Their songs are soothing and never get too loud. If you have questions, feel free to pick my brain about them. I have had zebra finches and society finches so far.
What kind do you think you have?
