All I know is that if it's a reoccurring thing, then it is possible to implant a button into the air sac that will allow the air to deflate on it's own - or so I have heard. This procedure should only be done by an avian vet, if they feel this is deemable.

Of course you want to find out as much as you can through testing, but PDD is so tough to diagnose in a living bird unfortunately. Are you in the US? If so, I've heard that RAL is the recommended lab for PDD testing.
