Blue and gold with red dots on his face

We have had our 10 year old blue and gold since the beginning of March. Over the weekend he developed a few small light red dots on the white part of his face - on his 'cheeks'. I don't think they are new feathers because they are lower then his 'feather line'. He has been on the same diet since we've had him and this is the first we've seen of it. Nothing else has changed in his environment (toys, perches, etc.). Does anyone have any experience with this? Otherwise he's acting his perfectly normal nutty self.

Something about stress related issues causing the feather to produce another color on present feathers. Like a stripe on the individual feather. But I mighta read it wrong though.
Thankyou so much for my WONDERFUL sig macawpower58!!

Where are the red dots located? The ingrown feathers were on the eyelids and around the eyes. What pellets are you feeding? Any food changes lately? Have you changed any of your cosmetics, soap products, cleaning products lately?
If they don't start to subside, I'd have a vet check him just to be safe.
