1. Cost, simply they cost less without being lesser 'quality'
2. Alot of articles seam to say they are more family type birds wheras the CAG is more a one person bird.
3. The big one: CAG have a nasty reputation for plucking, which the TAG don't. It seams the TAG, in nature, become independent 6 months sooner than the CAG, which may explain why CAGs sold in their first year have problems.
The only reason I can think to get a CAG over a TAG I love those red feathers. They are bigger too, which is cool, but not the only reason to buy a bird obviously(like those guys who buy 18 foot Burmese pythons because "big snakes are cool")
So, to those who have had one or both, can you give me your comments or advice. I have experience with birds and own a Senegal. Thanks in advance.

She adapts well to new cages (moved from her original small cage to a bigger one when I adopted her), new settings (travels 4 hours by car with me to family home), etc...
One thing I do find true about my CAG is that she will have random phobias, or can be randomly scared of something benign. For example, she freaked out once when I walked by her playtree while carrying one roll of white toilet paper. Nothing crazy, but she pinned her eyes, moved a bit and flapped her wings a little. Meanwhile, she'll growl and challenge my biggest foster dogs (from inside the safety of her cage while I'm present).
Birds are individuals, blah, blah, blah. This is what I have to share about my CAG, whom I adore.
