Lovebirds are typically very nippy, especially hens. I use the "Earthquake" technique, you drop your finger barely an inch when they bite. It throws them off balance and within a few times they understand that biting will make them lose balance, I'm telling you it works wonders. Before that I had a tamed hen who would draw blood, I tried so many techniques (water bottle, air, ignoring, placing back in the cage). It's also a great idea to take off things that make them want to bite, such as jewelry. If you stick to the "earthquake" your bird should get the point and you'll have a way to control the biting.
I value my garden more for being full of blackbirds than of cherries, and very frankly give them fruit for their songs.
