is my bird sick or what?

the first one is a canary, she's been living with me for 10 months
but recently (for these past 3 days) i notice she would sometimes breathe with her beak open, as if she's panting...
i don't see her sneezing, nor did i see any runny discharge from her nose...
in fact, most of the time i see her acting, playing, feeding, and even pooping normally...
so why is it that she pants?
i do live in the warm tropics, could that be the reason? is she just cooling down?
my other bird is a budgie, he's still new, been living with me for about 2 - 3 weeks
he's still scared of me... and if i came near him, he stays still and pants, also making small clicking noise.
again, i checked him out, there's no discharge from the nose...
except: his cere has some yellow patches near the nostrills... what are those?
i'm sorry i can't submit a picture, my budgie's still afraid of me and freaks out a lot

We can't tell you if your birds are sick or not. Only an a-vet could tell you this for sure.

It does sound like they need a vet, it is best to get them checked at the very least. Better safe than sorry.
RIP Angel and Shadow. Mommy loves you.
