Great to see your doing so well, I adopted a 8 year old Senegal about a month ago, the trick is to watch him and work out what he likes, he's not a baby so will already have habits. He wouldn't go to his cage, so I left him out till he was ready (or hungry). I noticed he would stand near the front door and seemed to like to sleep on the flat cage top, so I made him a wooden shelve and put it just inside the door, he now sleeps on it. I also noticed when we turned the main light off in the room and put the table light on he started to calm down and after 10 - 15 minutes he would go to his bed and fall asleep. When I first got him he would stay up till we went to bed and this wasn't good, he goes to bed now at 7pm, all I do his turn the table light on and off he goes. He also pushes everybody who comes into the house to see how far he can go, its a bit like having a 3 year old child in the room, how you deal with this is up to you but he will try to see were he fits in the family. He,s a ladies man, he will sit with me all day but as soon as my wife or daughters walk in the room I'm pushed out.
Looking forward to your next post.
