I have a 8 year old male yellow canary who is sick. we had another bird who just died today who had the same symptoms but who had been sick for two months. She lost feathers starting from her chest, neck, head, and bum. Her throat looked very red and swollen. She wasn't quiet and still jumped around untill the last week and a half where she was quiet and on the bottom of the cage. The male lost all the feathers from the middle of her chest and his throat looks red and swollen too. He is quiet now too. What I dont understand is that the female was in a cage with her brother for a month and a half of being sick and the brother never caught anything. After i separated them I put her cage next to the yellow male canary and now he caught it. I dont really have the money to see a vet and I need some help here, I dont want to loose him as well. Is there any idea of what he has or now I might be able to help him? Hes currently just getting vitamin drops.
