Hi, I'm James and I thought I would introduce myself to this forum. I used to own two budgies and now I do not own any birds. However, I hope to soon be a bird owner again. I have one question, what type of bird should I get. I want a parrot. I also want something larger than a cockateil, but not quiet the size of a macaw. I also don't want the cost of the bird to exceed 1500 dollars. I have a decent amount of time to spend with a bird, although I do have school during the week. I was thinking about a Galah Cockatoo or (Rose Breasted Cockatoo). Though I am also open to all suggestions. Sorry about rambling!

Being biased, I'd suggest a conure. I've a green cheek myself, and they aren't very loud parrots at all so ideal if you have neighbours. My one is mostly quiet though does chatter quite alot and now and then has a lovely big screech! Which is probably absolutely nothing compared to other parrots (even other conures). He adores cuddles and is a macaw in a small birds body. So intelligent and full of personality. If noise isn't a factor then I'd even look at the bigger, brighter conures! I got mines for 170 pounds, probably a bit dearer because he was a yellow-sided (a colourful mutation) but the rest of your money could go into enriching your little guys life (though I have to say, it's the everyday normal things that interest my Az and not the things I buy for him!) but you could probably get him a lovely avairy outside! Last of all I'd suggest getting two. I'll be getting Az a friend soon as I feel so guilty when I see him so frantic to get out of his cage if I have to leave him (for college which I'm not in much or if on a night out I wait until it's sleep time for the parrot but he wakes up ) other than that, he's never in it, still though. AH I rambled! Apologies!
