Scott here, I just happened upon a cockatoo. (Not really) The pet store where I board my birds and go to play dates on Sundays. Called asked if I would please take the 21 year old cockatoo from the store. Although the bird was a favorite of all the store patrons she was getting negative reinforcement. Everyone who walked in the store would go right up to her being she is such a beautiful bird. But, when they walked away she would start to scream and they would walk right back to her. Things got so bad right before Christmas she was moved to the back room of the store but continued to scream and seemed to be getting more and more stressed out. 2 days after having her home with me she is screaming much less. The first day was almost non stop yesterday was less than an hour and today so far less that 3 min first thing in the morning. I am looking for any pointers on things Penelope may enjoy other that what I already do with my Grey's. Yesterday I gave her a bath (she kinda smelled) and I have to say she liked it much more than the Grey's do. She seems to be very gentle and timid although I expect that to change once she gets more comfortable. P.S she says "Hey Pretty Baby" and Hello Penelope all day long. Do you think it will be possible to teach her other words being so old? My Grey's have started picking up all kind of things The love to say "Come on Guys" and "Are You Alright?"
both new phrases since Christmas. :-)
Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions,

She's had years of stimuli at the petshop, and will want that attention to continue.
Good luck! If you need any help or ideas on keeping her happy and entertained, just ask away. There's some awesome Too owners on this board.
