Just weigh out the food in grams and feed that. Towards the end of the day, if there's a small amount of food left, you are feeding enough. If there's no food left, you need to up the amount. If there's a lot of food, it's too much.
At least, that's how I've done it. For 6 birds (combined weight is around 500 grams), I'm feeding 60-65 grams of dry food per day, which is about 12-13%, and there's always some food left. I'm using the acrylic locking dishes from Smart Crock (5 oz round dish and 7 oz corner dish) and am just barely covering the bottoms. The amount of fresh food varies each time they eat it.
