Hello,

Earlier on I posted a thread about my sick cockatiel. I'm happy to say that he is better now thanks to the kind people who replied to my message. Well ever since my cockatiel got sick I've been trying to find an avian vet in my area or anywhere really.
I cant find anywhere!! It's not that my bird is sick its just in case of a medical emergency.

That being said what are some things I can do to help prevent illness.
Or just things to increase to vitamin intake.
Any advice will be appreciated:)

Thank you so much,
Isabella

Taking a read through any cockatiel care books should help with giving you suggestions on a healthy diet.
I like All About Your Cockatiel Great place to start!

My two cents worth.
A good diet.
Do not put on a full Pellet diet. If Pellets used, I would keep this under 25% of diet.
Good quality Cockatiel seed mix, Millet, Fresh greens or veges, (Sweetcorn, Fresh sprouted Mung beans, fresh grass's in seed, Dandilion, Milk Thistle, Chick weed, Kale, Silverbeet. Peas, carrots). Mineral Block, Cuttlefish bone. other seeds I find they love is Hulled Oats. Flax seed, Safflower.
My guys do not get into fruit, so I do not bother.
They do get a few titbits, like the odd cracker, and get to help me eat my sandwich, wholemeal of course.
Cindy likes her porridge, yogurt, and berry fruit in the morning's.
If you get real stuck you maybe able to consult with an online Av, not sure how you would go with getting any drugs they say to use.
This is always a great place to ask if you feel you baby is not well.

Added Good exercise, as diet should be adjusted to this.
