excessive beak banging

My 8 year old tiel has started beak banging on all his perches. At first it was just his soft booda perch. Then, he moved on to his pedi perch. Now he's just banging everything in his cage. He's banging so much that there is an abrasion on his beak. Sometimes his banging goes 5 minutes or longer. I'm not sure if this is something I should give attention to or ignore.

You could try hormone reduction techniques to see if that decreases the amount of beak banging.

No, it's a hormonal boy thing. Less "daytime" will help. No nest like areas. No boxes, paper bags, cupboards, happy huts, etc.
