Petco & Prevue Hendryx

I bought this bird cage.
It showed up looking like this. Note: There was no damage to the outside of the box. The top part of the front of the cage is bent so you can't get the drawer for the bedding where it is supposed to be because it's bent.
I tried bending it back myself with no luck.
This what it looks like now, the tray still doesn't fit.
I called Petco and they said that they needed a picture of the damaged part so that they could send it to the vendor to find out what part they needed to replace. Well, it's the whole front of the cage. I really don't want to have to put a new cage together, it took us 2 hours from start to clean-up to get it all done. I am really proud of it but I just wish that that part wasn't so badly bent.
I will keep you guys updated to see if they come through and keep up with their end of the deal. If they don't, I will take it to the Petco store and make them deal with it.

I hope they give you good customer service, and fix everything for you. What type of bird is it for?

The customer service people haven't gotten bck to me and its been 3 days.
I went to Petco (50miles) and they said to dissasemble it and bring it in and they would give me my money back.
Its for a sun conure.
I want a cage that goes in a corner. I like this style.
What really pissed me off is that there was no damage to the box so they had to of boxed the cage up bent like that. They knew it was ruined and they shipped it anyway. I don't think I will be dealing with Petco again.

Have you thought about a cage like this instead? I'd imagine it would be easier to place perches, dishes, toys and stuff like that inside. Plus, it's roomier! (albeit pricier)
Bar spacing is 1" so it may, or may not, be an issue. I know one member here has his sun conure in a much larger macaw cage with 1" bar spacing and no problems.
Regardless, hope you are able to find a suitable cage that works for you!

I looked at the cage that you linked and I like it alot. I looked at the website and they also have one that is almost identical to the one I have now.
I can't figure out how to add it to the cart or figure out the price for it.
Do I have to make an account before they will show me the prices?

They said that they will give me a full refund at the store.
What I don't understand is that I asked the manager at my particular Petco if they could order the cage I wanted and have it shipped to the store and I could pick it up there and she said no. I don't understand how they can order anything they want when they need inventory but when a customer needs something they magically don't have the power to order it.
Excuse my language but I think that is complete and utter bull****. They just don't want to order it. Plain and simple. They don't value their customers and they obviously take no pride in the items that they sell.
I am done dealing with chain petstores. What a joke.

I know that it may be possible to order a specific species of bird at a store, but I don't know about products... and I do believe they are bound by what products they can sell. If it's something they don't sell, they probably can't order it. If it is something that they do sell then if it's not corporate rules, might be like they said, they just don't want to? They have an odd way of training employees, but the stores are only as good as their employees are.
