She is 2+ years and I have had her since she was a baby.
Unfortunately, my life situation has changed and due to economics, I am needing to give up my office and set up a home office. Mikah gets much attention in my home, but I know she will be disruptive to sessions (I am a psychotherapist) just by her being herself. It's due to my need to set up a home office and ensure a quiet space for my clients that I must find a new home for Mikah...
She is a very sweet bird, lets me and my boyfriend open her wings, preen her, and she will lay on her back in my hand (see photo). She is bonded to me and is protective/possessive when with me around strangers, but she connects with my pet sitter (female) well when I am away. She does seem to prefer females to males (my boyfriend being the exception), but she really enjoys being held, etc, and I am confident she would adjust to either gender.
She has been raised on pellets/vegies/fruit, has wings clipped, does not nibble on her feathers, enjoys showers/baths, and loves to cuddle in shirts (see photo).
I am a therapist, so have done some behavioral interventions with potentially obnoxious behaviors (such as I will not approach her when she screams but I have encouraged her to 'click' rather than scream for my attention; she will rarely chew on clothing now, and she also no longer poops on me and poops somewhat on command prior to being let out of her cage).
She is a sweetie and would make a good companion for an adult who can nurture her and also give her structure to maintain her good behaviors.
I am in Western Massachusetts and will be willing to drive some hours to a good home.
