My name is Nancy. I have been rescuing domestic and wild birds since about 1998. A couple of weeks ago I was diagnosed with a serious lung disease resulting from breathing in bird bacteria from droppings and the dander over the past 15 years. My tests indicate I have second degree lung tissue damage, not totally recoverable. Therefore, I must re-home all my pets immediately. I began this venture with 18 birds and 2 bunnies. I was so fortunate to find good homes for ALL but 1 Quaker parrot, and that is because this past Friday I was told by my doctor Quaker must go too. We hoped we might be able to keep Quaker.
Parrot breed: Quaker
His name is: Quaker (not very original are we)
His age is: 6 years
Can be taught to talk. Currently mumbles something about "Going to the Bank".
He is a Male. Likes people. Likes to take rides on your shoulder and generally be with a "people" friend. He is a very curious bird. Once you are his buddy, he will cry for a short while if you leave him behind.
Quaker comes with a medium California cage, 4 foot tall, by 2 feet square, on wheels. The other cage is a California macaw cage. It is 5 feet tall, by 3 feet wide, by 2 feet deep. Both cages are baked powder enamel, in a green/teal color.
If you or a friend would like to adopt Quaker, please let me know. I may be reached at: 407.896.4942. I live in the Conway/Primrose area, about 5 miles east of downtown Orlando, FL.
