Don't be warded off by my strange Username. My real name is Broderick, I am 23, and I've loved birds my whole life.
The most recent bird under my care is about a two month old cockatiel, and I have been handfeeding him since he was about 10 days old. He is a sweetheart and I love him so much. I havent quite decided on a permanant name yet, he will be living with me for as long as he needs to. His mother died, and he has become very attached to me, I assume he doesn't remember much before he came here and he assumes me as his mother. haha.
Ive always had a great understanding of birds, and have cared for many in the past. I guess i decided to join, to seek advice and care tips from fellow avian enthusiasts.
I'm actually looking into the process of obtaining an official bird hobbyist license, and devoting my life to the care of abandoned or injured birds, giving them a forever home if they cannot find a home or cannot be released.
If anyone knows more information on how I can go about this I would greatly appreciate it!
More info about me:
I am permenantly disabled due to neurological and mental disorders, but I am managing well as of late. I am not allowed to work, yet I still want to do something with my life, and I once even considered becoming a veterinarian before I became ill.
All this free time gives me the perfect opportunity to care for baby birds, which I have quite a knack for. As I can give them the constant care they desperately need when orphaned.
I live with my boyfriend of 4 years, and he works out of the home as an artist. I plan to move to the UK in a few years, (finances willing) and will continue to persue my hobby there as well!
I guess thats all for now! I'm off to the help board, I hope to hear from all here at BirdBoard! Take care!
