Good afternoon and Happy Mothers' Day to all the mums out there!
My name is Dawn, I'm from Ontario and am currently birdless. I do have a 4 y/o boxer and a blue tongued skink. My father has an umbrella 'too that I am likely to inherit some day, as she is 22 years old and my dad is 54.
I'm going back to school in September, for a 2 year program. After that I'm hoping to get either:
I really haven't decided yet. While I'm in school I *may* wind up with a parrotlet or two, but no decisions have been made.
In the past I've had budgies and a cockatiel. My first budgie was an American type, and lived to be 16. My second, an English, only lived to be about 5. The cockatiel we re-homed for a number of reasons, but my understanding is that he was doing much, much better after he moved.
Mostly I've come back to the re-researching stage. It's been a few years so I feel there must be some newer information out there. Although, most of the Canadian breeders have disappeared. I'm wary of shipping animals though. Wouldn't it be incredibly stressful on them? Ah, well. I'm not going to be purchasing a bird any time in the near future anyway, just looking to learn and chat.
