I recently adopted a 19 year old male ringneck dove. This is my first dove, so I'm not very familiar with their behaviors. I've read up some things but I've got a lot of conlicting information.

Whenever I walk close to him, he shakes his wings. I've read this is supposed to be a sign of affection. He does this with pretty much all humans because he's very tame and he's always been a single dove.

But his other behavior confuses me. Sometimes he will peck my fingers while laughing, them immediately after he will coo and bow against my fingers. Then he'll usually go back to cuddling against my hand and shaking his wings and cooing. What does this all mean? It's all pretty different  compared to the parrots I'm used to.
