I have a young - about 3 1/2 mon. budgie. I have had him/her for 4 weeks. My question is about his/her behavior. It is a very sweet, calm bird. Sits on my finger, is now out in a play gym from time to time -- chews on toys, but seldom vocalizes. It calls, but doesn't do any of the jibber jabber that I expected. What could be the reason for this?
Thanks for your help.

Well when I got my female parakeet she was very quiet, except for a few little squeeks and a couple chirps she was very quiet, up until she was about 8 months to a year even though I had other birds with her. She is now almost 2 years old and she is making more noise now but she is still a lot quieter than my others. I think some birds are just different from others. Your bird might be one of those types. you might even appreciate the quiet now because later it might be a real screamer
