Pickle isn't extremely destructive, so toys do last longer than they did when I had Beetle. Beetle could go through a shredder toy in an afternoon while Pickle can take 2-4 weeks to dismantle something. I do tend to stock up on toys: I'll buy 5-10 toys one month but then won't buy any for a month or so.
As far as fresh and frozen produce, I keep his preferences and needs in mind along with my own. I don't think that I spend any more at the market now that I have Pickle than I did when I didn't have a parrot.
Veterinary care (well-visit) is $300/annually for a check-up and all the testing.
Grooming? Hard to say... I haven't yet taken Pickle to have his flight feathers trimmed or his nails trimmed. Beetle went 2-3 times a year, if that and I doubt that I spent more than $30/year total for grooming. I anticipate that Pickle's expenses will be similar.
Pickle, Golden-winged parakeet (brotogeris). DOH 3/22/08.
Beetle, Peach-faced lovebird (agapornis). 8/6/05 - 8/28/07. Always in my heart.

It seems like alot but this is spread amongst a largish number of birds. If divided down to individual birds it's actually not too bad.
