That was back in September.
I still miss her. I hate how many people dont seem to understand that losing a pet is just as hard as losing a close friend. My mom always told me to just accept all that I was feeling in the grieving process and to not be hard on myself - i have had every right to feel how i have felt about losing her. And of course, you may even feel as if you are to blame.
But I think your cat knew that you loved her. And i am sure she understood you did all that you could. Celebrate the life of your kitty, even if its through tears. Maybe get some pictures together and put them in a frame with some candles and flowers for remembrance. What ever helps you grieve.
I am really sorry for your loss, and you arent alone through it!

Birdlady - Bosco may have purposely waited to be alone. Dogs and cats do that all the time. Losing a pet is hard enough. Don't beat yourself up with guilt.

Cats are such special creatures....I always think they are more spiritual and dogs are more earthy.
I have lost cats, dogs and birds before and the pain is so real and so intense.....I think the pain we feel at the loss of animal is so profound because the love we feel for them and the love they give us is so pure and so unconditional.
I dread losing any more but I know it will happen.....I thank God for every day I have with my babies and for those that have gone, I am so thankful for the joy and love they brought to my life.
When the pain subsides and the time is right, consider bringing a new kitty life into your home. The spirit of that cat will help to heal...trust me, I've been there.
Run free, Hope!!!....

I've now had to put 2 of my cats to sleep and man it's the hardest thing. I would not let them take their last breath in the arms and sights of strangers, so I insisted on being there with them til the end. And I'm very happy that I was with them as a small comfort to them but those last breaths are images that never leave me. I'm crying now just thinking about it. I wouldn't have it any other way though - they were there for me in my darkest hours and it was the least I could do for them, see their journey out to the last breath.

It takes a lot of love but thankfully I was with both of them went they went to kitty heaven, each knowing that I loved them deeply.

My cat suddenly got killed earlier in the year by a guy who deliberately ran her down and dragged her up the road!! That was the worse thing that ever ever happened to me so I know how hard it is to get back to 'normal' life with someone missing.
Peace be with you and Rest In Peace Hope
