No, they are incapable of making loud parrot screams.
And god no they do not poop like dogs, rather like lorys and lorikeets. (liquid)
Also, they are known to be extremely cuddly, and purr while sitting in your lap.
This site has the BEST info on pet toucans out there, and are also the biggest toucan breeder in the world.

The Toco is actually pretty quiet, and while the Keel Billeds were sorta loud..they were nothing compared to a Macaw.
For workers at a zoo to be complaining about how loud a Toucan is..it's a bit weird.
But then again, I've never had a Chesnut-Mandibled..
Hi! I'm new here by the way. :]

I got her from Beaks Birdhouse, (see post at top of page).
She can't make noise louder than I can talk. Yes she purs,
and cuddles. Her poop is on the runny side but she poops
no more frequently than any other bird I've had. Yes they
can bite, as babies they are downright nippy. She has never
drawn blood, but she has caused pain. With all that being
said I will only have toucans as companion birds from here
on out. I'm a a huge fan.

Keep in mind, they are known
to kill and eat rodents and small birds.
Here's a few pics of Loola.
Nevermind the big goofy guy (me) this just gives a good idea of her size.
Her favorite toy.
A few more...
Ohe yeah, she bathes several times a day, and
the worst thing she smells like is fruit, that's nice.
One more just cause I think she's purty.
