Frankly, I don't think I'd keep a pair of ekkies in the same house unless they were caged together with the intent of breeding. What I foresee is a very frustrated, plucked and noisy female. I could be wrong and I frequently am. However, they are among the MOST likely to pluck parrots anyway.

I don't feel their diet is any more expensive, after all fruits and veggies aren't very costly. Their diet requires more prep time though....cooking beans and rice and washing and choppping things and also more clean up time since it is a wetter diet and they are usually messy food flingers and bar wipers.
