Ok so we have had Tiger now for a few months and he has adapted so well into the family. He doesn't have accidents, he doesn't tear up furniture even though he can't retract his claws, he is good with the kids (who tend to be rough), and he isn't afraid of much. Water included, he would much rather take a shower than clean himself. Oh and he doesn't eat my plants either, and so far has left the Christmas tree alone. Well last night was the cutest, he meowed at me loudly to go to bed like he always does (isn't it funny how we let our pets tell us when bedtime is, I feel like a kid sometimes), and as I was doing the stuff throughout the house like getting ready for bed, checking doors, and turning off lights he is right at my heels, meowing more loudly than before like he was getting impatient. So we got to bed and he of course wanted to snuggle (he is the most outgoing cat I know EVER, even with strangers). Well I wasn't quite tired yet but he wanted to go to bed so I turned on the TV and was watching something while my husband was finishing watching football. And as my husband goes about his nightly routine he must have startled Tiger because he jumped up and started pacing next to me, looking out the bedroom, coming back and checking on me, then pacing some more. And as my husband got closer to the bedroom Tiger jumped into a pounce stance and began hissing into the darkness. And not until my husband called out to him letting him know it was him did Tiger relax. My husband then joked about not needing a guard dog as long as we had Tiger around. He was so intent on protecting me he was ready to throw himself at the unknown. I have never met a cat like him.
And we just found out yesterday that we have acquired a female boxer puppy from the litter my mom's dog just had. My mom has an albino boxer who is the absolute sweetest thing ever, and my husband had been talking about getting one of her pups for a long time (this is her 11th litter [slightly exagerating], no matter what my mom does her dogs find a way to mate, even jumping through windows to get to one another, and she is too old to be fixed, the vet said simply putting them under was harder on the dog than the labor would be) and so my mom gave her male away but apparently her dog was already pregnant. Anyhow we get the pick of the litter and she is quite large already at 6 weeks. We don't know what she looks like and don't have a name picked out yet. We won't even meet her until Christmas Day.
And as you all know I have taken over my dad's house and am working on it, so on and so forth. Well my uncle who has lived there for as long as I have been alive, just informed me he also has three dogs (they live in the basement with my uncle though and only come up when he does). So that will be a total of 6 DOGS!!!! Luckily all but one are female and that would be our lab and he is fixed so no worries there. But 6 DOGS! I hope I can cope with that.I know the other three won't be upstairs a whole lot and we have a HUGE yard but still. So that is what is new with us. I know many of you were thinking we finally got our bird but we are still getting the necessary stuff before we contact a breeder. Right now we are looking for PTFE or PTOA free cookware. We have been to 6 different places and each place was sold out.
