A Madrone tree.....
Well ok, it fell a yesterday and wasn't blocking the road any more. It was on the narrowest part of a narrow road though! Found a mud hole just big enough for the van to park about 100' down hill from the tree. Get this.
I didn't even have to break out a saw. I had three!! Found what I was looking for and was afraid if I started cutting on the main part of the tree the hill would come down.
it is all still green and very wet but it is some good wood!!
Woo hoo!! I got wood!!

Someone should start a post of bird safe wood ..trees, but with an actual picture of the tree in bloom and not in bloom so we all know what we are to look for. I really have no idea as I am sure there are others that are the same.
Seems like the only thing we ever find blown over or fallen down here is oak trees. I want to find a pine tree blown over... Bubba and Merlin are drooling over the wood slices a pine tree would make for them once dried out.

I can't wait to see what you make with it. Your bird room is already so fun. Your babies are so spoiled, I can't let Abbey see your pictures lol
