Honeysuckle branches...SAFE perches?

Other things that you can use, as long as it hasn't been exposed too vehicle exhaust and other toxins, are crape myrtle and grapevine.
I guess I should of looked into this before actually doing it but I have honeysuckle bushes EVERYWHERE outside of my house and Ive been using them as perches for my 2 fids. I make sure they are cleaned and free of any bugs or anything 1st. Then when they get messed up I just throw them in the fire pit and replace them with new ones. Does anyone know if this is safe? (i sure hope so) Of course they have other store bought perches as well but they just love to tear them up and they arent cheap!
Dr. Gary Gallerstein has a list of toxic and non-toxic plants and foods in his book. I can't remeber if it is a complete list of both, if not it should give you a website to get more.

Non-toxic for birds list and a list of things that are toxic for birds.
all kinds of info about non/toxic wood for birds. We have tons of honey suckle, too..but we also have some willow, so we might try that
