These are the flowers of the date Palm tree. Each flower willhopefully develop into a heavy luscious juicy branch of dates...for the humans of us but for the birds as well. Every fall I collect up to 40 kilos of dates at harvest time, wash them and freeze them in ziplock bags. I am set for the year that way and the best thing of all is that they are free, only thing is bending over to pick them up off the ground. When the city workers cut down the branches in late fall, I get about 10 large branches or so put a couple in the aviary and the birds have a real feast. Well they have to know how their wild cousins forage for their food. The rest of course I freeze.http://www.birdboard...ee-for-my-Birdshttp://www.birdboard...833#post1572833
