Broken Leg :(

Should I follow the advice on this one or just take him straight to the vet? Do you guys have any tips or stories that might be useful. I am looking to basically bandage his leg and put all his food on the floor and remove the perches. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Today, he is fine. He can't perch (although I have heard some learn to do so) so I put many platforms in his cage, and covered them with stretchy book covers. I put a tube of water near one of them so he can drink. He can eat fly to the seed hoppers and other food troughs just fine.
I have had finches lose toes before, and they heal on their own just fine.
Good luck with your canary!

Yes babies adapt, but we're talking about a canary that's been used to hopping from perch to perch with both feet.
What about the pain the canary is going through? It will shock his whole system & may stop eating!!!
It can't adapt without the leg being seen by a vet!!
I STILL SAY VET ASAP!!
