That was my initial thought too - the active people on this board are the ones that really enjoy their birds and/or are not interested in rehoming because they have adopted birds as rehomes...
George, you're not gonna find many people here on birdboard looking to rehome their birds..

True - That might work... If we have local online classified systems we could post the ads - like this one: Castanet Classifieds - Loving Senegal parrot - the problem is the ad will disappear shortly... And you have to come to Kelowna (or Vernon) to pick up this parrot - I don't think the owner would have any idea of how to ship a parrot!
Yeah. But imaybe it could be for like, adds we see? I don't know. If someone is looking for.a certain bird we could help look and keep our eyes open for one

Yes - I posted one of those links in the new Canada section - but many of the breeders have either moved or are out of the business... It would be great to compile a new list... And (somehow) attempt to keep it current!

It could be a closed thread that members would either message Holly or Roger to add to.

If many people are like me then they bought (buy?) their parrots from backyard-breeders (yes - the type that some people like to *trash*) since they are the only ones that seem to have parrots available - at least where I live... My parrotlet came from people that had parrotlets that *surprise* decided to have kids... I don't think there was any intent to become a breeder in that case and I haven't heard of more for sale from her. My green cheek came from a small, remote, aviary that I would recommend if someone was looking for a green cheek, senegal or pied cockatiel - but she has a waiting list a mile long... And she doesn't ship - she seems to expect people to make the trip to her so she can size-em-up...
Can't you guys post links to breeders YOU have bought from? People/shops/rescues you would personally recommend as being good. I think it would be a better idea than looking for dead links, since every Canadian seems to post with the same problem... it'll take longer to compile the list though, that's the only problem.
Anyway - the crux of this is - it may be a long, slow, painful process developing a list... Not that I think this is a bad thing - just slow... sigh...
