Timex crop would not empty at all. Cookie , corky breeder, took Timex to vet who first gave Timex antibiotics.
This failed. He was again taken to another vet when that did not wok. His crop was cleared out by vet, given shot to help it digest it food but to no avail
cookie and i was up all night trying to save this little guy who was just starting to get pin feathers. He was nothing but skin and bones. His crop would not empty. vet believed something physically was wrong with his insides. I emptied his crop using a special interment and emptied his crop of the food that gone sour.
Timex was a troop. I think he knew we were trying to help him. we gave him the meds the vet told us to give him. and then re feed him. but to no Advil
he fought so hard to live.
he died in the palm of our hands. First cookie held him then i did. He was SO week but yet minutes before he died he tried to stand up. He stretched his head and looked up at me as if to say he was not finish fighting
he finally passed away at AM
I never seen a bird fight so hard or litterly starve to death with food in his crop.
he could not digested the food
it was so hard to watch him die knowing we could do no more. All we could do was hold him against our chest which was his favorite spot.
cookie hand named him Timex because he just keep right on ticking till he could not anymore.
Timex was not my bird and yet i cried. it was so unfair for this little guy to die when he fought so hard to live
