I just had to share something endearing my little bird did today. I came home exhausted after a long early AM bike ride today, showered, let Zeek (wb caique) and Rocky (gcc) play out of the cage a little while. Zeek wouldnt go back into his cage, so I left him on top of his cage while I went upstairs to nap. He normally just hangs out on top of the cage and looks out the window, or crawls back into the cage. Of course, he cried nonstop for me, and I tried to sleep with ear plugs in. After awhile, I hear a little bird very close and I see a little beak pushing through the bedroom door crack. It must have taken a lot of courage for him to find his way down the dark scarey hallway, through the living room, up the stairs (no carpet, just floating planks - not easy to climb) and to the right bedroom. All he wanted was to snuggle. Birdbrain should be a compliment!
