Is the pair DNA sexed? Have they successfully reproduced before? How old are they? What are their diet?

Tell your aunt to make sure the birds have plenty of fresh, good quality food, including vegetables such as broccoli, peas, carrots etc (whatever they will eat except for rhubarb, onion, and avocado), and plenty of calcium and clean fresh water, and with a bit of luck she will have some healthy young quakers in no time!

His loud calling is probably just territorial warnings.
As for the nesting... is the female in the box a lot? is it a large box? and do they have proper nesting materials?
Also it depends on when she got them. Sometimes birds take a while to be settled before they feel comfortable nesting, especially since the male seems to be very territorial as it is.
