Yes - I have wanted a Black Lory for about 6-7 years now. When I originally contacted Chris I had resolved myself to getting a Blue Mountain because at the time I had no idea she was even breeding the Blacks or had any available.
It wasn't until I saw a separate ad for hers and saw Black babies available that I realized. At that time both were sold, so I had to wait for her next clutch to hatch and she notified me on May 22nd that she had 6 new Black babies and would I be interested in one
I have heard nothing but great things about the entire Chalcopsitta family and their personalities/behavior as pets.
It's nice to share him with other Lory enthusiasts because when I mentioned to other bird people I was getting a Lory, none had anything positive to say about them as pets, mostly emphasizing how messy and loud they are, etc. I guess they just don't appreciate them in the same way
I have a White-Backed Mousebird (an African Softbill) so I am familiar with a softbill diet and felt if I could handle the mousebird and her poop, I could certainly handle Lory poop! LOL
As for the "noise," well.. any large bird is going to make noise! Not sure why those parrot people think a Lory is any worse than a Macaw!
