I can see how the thought of losing our precious animals would totally freak many of us out....but that's the point of elections...tell them while we deeply care about animal welfare, we do want to keep our pets...if they are in the grip of one crowd whose view you disagree with, then it is up to us who disagree to make them see the other side/s of the arguement and if they push on to help them devise control conditions that don't affect our relationships with animals. The WA Greens were thinking about something about banning pet birds but the stink created by us who disagreed made them shelve the idea. This is democracy at its best...write, e-mail, ring...but get your view heard, that way they won't hear just the radical animal liberationist view.
