The only time I can get him to hop is if i chase him, but he gets really angry and pissed off and starts to bite me LOL.
No but really this is about blankets.
He still hates going under blankets... but he is getting better. It's kind of funny...he literally just freezes on his back, and then makes this WEIRD noise I never heard him make before... wonder if I can find it on youtube...
Nope, but I uploaded a quick video.
YouTube - Douglas' Blanket Scream
I swear I am not causing him any pain... although it sounds like I am. When he went to the vet for his blood test, they towelled him and brought him to another room and I heard that sound non-stop. Same sound, same intervals... it really weirds me out and makes me feel bad for the guy.
Is that the sound of fear?
And is there a way for me to get him used to being blanketed/towelled, under blankets?
He doesn't like his cage to be covered either. He gets really nervous. The movement of the fabric scares him, so when I may my bed, get dressed/anything I move really really slow.
I try to play with him under it, and he is okay after a while, but if he chooses not to, he won't... and he's only okay if i make it a sort of cave. He loves his happy hut and he loves giant tube... so he's not scared of going into dark enclosed spaces...
So confused! I sometimes wonder about his upbringing. Like, of course, he could be a lot more demure than most caiques, but when he came to me all his green feathers were all black, and his flight feathered butchered... not a good sign >.>
