Yesterday I expected him to be extra hungry because of his light dinner....nope....he refused to eat his morning meal which is normally at 8 am....he did not eat until 10 am. but he took a full feeding. We also put food in his brooder to check out...yesterday was peas in the pod and corn on the cob...he played with them a lot also...even might have eaten a few pieces. This morning we put in more pea pods...he loves to chew on these, apple and pellets soaked in juice. I added them after his morning meal. he has been checking them out...so far the apple is a big hit.
Sat he was 375 grams...yesterday he was 370 grams, and this morning he weight 368 grams. I weight him every morning before his first meal. I have noticed that his weight does fluctuate a bit...not always gaining weight every day...but at least maintaining it. Is the drop in weight because he was so active and not eating as he normally does? His refusal to eat yesterday morning is concerning too. He is acting fine in every other way....just busy checking out the new food and perching. He is 40 days old today...Is he working on dropping weight for fledgling already?
I posted this yesterday in the thread I started last week for Ozzy, but no replies. I accidentally started the thread under macaws. Any way just thought this might be a better spot for my question. Last night he did start eating the pellets and apple...he ate a good amount...he was still very active all day.
