parrotlet or budgie

Parrotlets are fun, smart little birds...
Both *can be* cuddly - both *can be* distant - it depends on the bird more than the species IMO.
Parrotlets have a few more antics that they engage in (mine liked a hamster wheel) - and are somewhat longer-lived... But that's about the only difference...

What I would like to know from all parrolet-keepers is which type is louder! I know that budgies "talk" more or less all the time and have quite loud and usually not particularly pleasant voices. What about the parrotlets?
Another question: how much droppings do parrotlets leave outside the cage? And what are they like? (A funny topic to express oneself about in a foreign language, I can tell you )
This is, I think, one advantage of budgies - they have a very good, "economical" metabolism: they don't eat very much and their droppings are compact and rather rare.
Hope I could help,

The parottlets I've had all vary in their sounds...some sing, some just chirp...on occasion one makes a loud noise that is quickly over. The budgies at PetSmart where I've worked also make little noises all day....nothing loud. It's a wonderful addition to the sounds of a home. I think their voices are very pleasant....especially when they start chirping away w/ the outside birds, they really have some beautiful sounds.
Parottlets droppings are tiny, they roll and are easy to pick up w/ a klenex. I use a template on the bottom of the cage and put down 20 papers all at once, then once every few days I can just remove one and a clean one is already there waiting. It's so easy.
