I got my CAG!

I went up and ended up adopting Kononi. He's 11 years old. As typical with any grey he was a bit stand offish at first and sorta still is.... I'm sure last night he was not to happy of a camper being stuck in that cat carrier for three hours! The poor bird has been eating as diet of Kaytee Max its entire life! He is in beautiful condition though...... HIs feathers are beautiful and he looks healthy, though as we all know Parrots are the best mimics, even mimicking that they feel good when they are very sick. I was a bit upset on the way home I was just taking a look at his papers from the vet he's always gone to and I saw back in 2008 he has elevated liver enzymes and elevated WBC's...... Which in the nursing field would mean some type of infection was brewing.....the recommendations on the vet papers stated switching the bird to either roudybush or harrisons and start milk thistle which It seems as they did not.... I for now just offered Kononi some harrisons in his dish for now.... I didn't have a chance to get to the pet store last night to pick some kaytee max up... But I'm inclined not to feed him that at all and hope that he will take off the bat to the harrisons..... I really am hoping better nutrition will help my guy out.... They have since done blood work but I do not have q copy of the the recent ones. I did find out though the lover enzymes are still elevated but no change from before... I will call the vets when they open today, but I'm such a nervous nancy when it comes to things like this.... It I'll break my heart to think that i adopted a terminally I'll bird (though in a sense we're all terminal; it's called life) that will soon not be with me... If that is the case at least I can provide a loving caring home....either way . I just hope the poor guy isn't sick.

Sorry guys, just never updated that Kononi's most recent lab work done at the end of august was all normal! His liver enzymes were normal! WBC normal! He took to the harrisons basically right away... I leave the coarse in one bowl and in the other I offer the fine.... Man am I really loving this guy!!!
