Plus the sanctuary birds
My husband, his parents and myself bought Flying High Bird Sanctuary at Apple Tree Creek, Queensland, Australia at the end of March 2010. We have a long road ahead to build it to a gold class standard that we want to achieve. The sanctuary consists of a free flight 2 acre aviary which is the largest in Australia. There is also other smaller aviaries located on the edge of the 2 acre free flight.
My real job is being a Paramedic. I have to continue to work as a Paramedic to help cover the costs of the running of the sanctuary. There is just too many birds that need to be rehab'ed and rehomed. We take in unwanted pet birds as well as injured and orphaned birds and Australian native wildlife.
I am no means an expert in the world of birds. There is always something new to learn and just when you think you have learnt it all, some bird decides to teach you a lesson. This is why I have joined the forum. There is always something new to learn.
What other type of pets do you own?
