I was reading that Hahn's respond well to game types of socialization and what is called over practice. Here is one game to hold off biting behavior. Play the "Warm Potato Game" Sit in a circle with family members who are willing to help. Do this in a neutral area...Not near the cage.. Pass the bird slowly around the circle using the step up command to each person. Each person needs to offer praise, a scritch on the head or a treat, before being passed on. I heard from many in the bird world this simple game can do wonders...good luck.

Wow!!! I live in NJ also. I have heard from a very reliable friend who has 15 rescues and built a bird room for them that she had heard about scammers in NJ pretending to be rescues. Could this be one? The money thing sound right on with what I heard. Remember anyone can make a website look legitimate. Very Curious!!!!

Wow, what a great story. So nice of you to rescue, not just one but two. My experience is limited to tiels and linnies. I just got my first Hahn's and I finally found my favorite species by far.

I have had gone-wild tiels before and I just persisted with step up and they got it after a while. I would also target train them to touch a stick for a treat. You can look up how to do that and why it is helpful on birdtricks.com.

My Hahn's is young yet and was hand raised. I just got him a month ago. Please keep up the good work and keep us Hahn's lover's posted!!
