Dexter is a CAG, who is about 12yrs old. Was adopted from a family who's father passed and the family was afraid of Dex. He has a great vocabulary of words and awsome sound effects. He gets a fresh diet every morning of birdie bread, fruits and veggies and some mixed nuts. He is on Lafabers pelleted diet. He is not clipped but in the years I have had him, he has never even opened his wings to flapp. He will open them slightly during baths.Dexter loves for me to scritch his head, face and neck.
My Umbrella 2, Sammy is a rescue. Big male, Who came to us as a screamer but we have decreased by 75%. Loves to cuddle and for me to preen his head feathers. Loves to dance and chase the dogs. He has learned to sing wonderfully, just doesn't know the words! LOL! He is unclipped and flys to targets I ask him to go to.
Heading toward over the hill! I have crohns disease that keeps me pretty run down. I have to get I.V. treatment every 8 weeks. Its kind of like chemo. Married for the 2nd time x 6 yrs. Husband Mike has 2 children, one 15 yrs and 1 at 17 yrs. I have 2 wonderful children that are in their 20's. Both with successful careers.
I am on full time disability due to crohns.
I have 3 dogs that are our babies. We are real animal lovers here. 2 min. schnauzers, Kitty and Maggie. We have a just 1yr old chow shep mix, who is my baby, named Raven.
I used to work at an educational zoo and worked with every animal under the sun. Snakes, Huge lizards, alligators(got bit in the stomach by our 3 footer), Monkeys(also got nibbled on) All types of birds of prey, Bats, lynx, artic and fennec foxes and porcupines, and of course parrots!. I could go on and on.
Became a dog groomer for many years but then hit with crohns, causes rhumetoid arthritis, had to quit grooming. I do groom my own girls though.
I have worked many years as a wildlife rehibilatator as well as being a foster home for parrots and many a litter of abandoned puppies.
Up to 6 yrs ago I use to own a bird breeding business, called Flutterby Feathers. My babies were raised in my living room with all the love and attention they could wish for. I bred Parrotlets, Lovebirds of many mutations, tiels of many mutations, Parrotlets of different mutations, Quakers, suns, brown throated conures, Mitred conures, maroon bellied and Gcc conures, blue head pionus, senegals, brown headed parrots, red belly parrots, red lored zons, YNA, and double yellow heads. I think that's all of them. I had to sell my business due to my crohns and frequent hospitalization.
What other type of pets do you own?
