There is another project I would like to get started on, but figured I needed to completely finish another one (not that it's hard or anything! Just been doing them at my own pace is all), so thought I'd get these last two in for now...

This article though is pretty 'short', simple, and self explanatory... but here is an article for it anyway (as per requested).

Bird Links & Resource Directory

The Bird Links & Resource Directory is, for the most part, simple and straight forward. There are general categories, and subcategories.

To add a link to the directory, find the Submit a Link at the top of the page and click it.

You will be taken to a page that has 8 fields or empty boxes to complete.


The first box is yellow, and is called "Website Name". It is the name or title of the site you are linking to. (i.e. BirdBoard.com)

The second box is for the "URL" or the website address of the site being linked to (i.e. http://www.BirdBoard.com)

The third box is a drop down menu. You can choose one of four categories (categories are in bold), and one of the several sub-categories underneath. (i.e. Shopping; Bird Related Services)

After completing the first three fields, the next in a large box labeled Description. Be sure to include what the site is about and what it has to offer (i.e. products for sale:, birds we have:, our services:, etc)

The fifth box is important for quick finding. It is the Keywords box. Keywords are used for quick and simple searching of specific links or items. Keywords help to get the link seen and used by many. (i.e. veterinary services, quality cages, Beak Appetit seller, play gym manufacturer, etc)

For vets, shops, and breeders, there is an optional seventh and eighth field for Phone Number and Address. They are pretty self explanatory, though are for the use of being contacted and an address where the person can be reached at.


Once all the fields have been properly fill out, you can then hit Submit and the info will be posted.
